Date: Wednesday, March 3rd.
Time: 10:00 for 10:30
Venue: Ming Yuet’s home
Cost: RM15 members, RM35 guests
Following her fascinating talk in November, Ming Yuet has now very kindly invited members to visit her home to see some of her collection for themselves. Numbers are strictly limited, so please sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.
Ming Yuet, educator, author and passionate proponent of Oriental culture and its symbolism and relevance in today’s world, has been collecting Peranakan Chinese porcelain for over forty years.
Peranakan porcelain, exuberant, ornate and colourful ware, was made to specification in China during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries for the exclusive use of the Peranakan or Straits-born Chinese communities in Penang, Malacca and Singapore. It is sometimes called Nonya ware.
