KLPac in Sentul Park is one of KL’s best kept secrets: an oasis of peace and calm set in the centre of one of the busiest parts of KL. Since 21 May 2004 it has dedicated itself to the practice of traditional and contemporary performing arts catering to a broad spectrum of the public. This is backed by top-of-the-range facilities to aid the growth and advancement of the industry and its practitioners.

We are very fortunate to be having a behind-the-scenes tour and talk by its Artistic Director Joe Hasham, who, together with Farida Merican, created a not-for-profit organisation specifically envisioned as a celebration of the arts and of life in Malaysia. Born out of heartbreaking circumstances when the Actor’s Studio’s first home in Dataran Merdeka was devastated by flash floods in June of 2003, KLPac has in a short time become a welcoming foster-home to the Malaysian performing arts community, regardless of race, colour or creed.
